Case Management

As the demand for community services grows, individuals in need of support services may be placed on the state’s Community Services Waiting List until they can be matched with a provider. DRC’s Case Manager, Joan Heinkel, assists individuals on behalf of the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities by determining their needs and preferences and then advocating for and securing those services.

Joan manages the needs of up to 35 individuals and seeks homegrown, community-based supports to maximize inclusion. Once an individual is paired with a support team, Joan provides personalized insight that stems from the close relationship she develops with each person in her care.
